Our Family and Consumer Sciences program and FCCLA are essential parts of college and career readiness for all students. These organizations help students engage through career exploration and leadership development. FCCLA engages teachers to support FCS education. FCCLA partners with businesses and industry leaders to create opportunities for members.
FCCLA empowers students to manage career and family responsibilities and create leadership, STEM, and technical skills in Family and Consumer Sciences related careers.
Some employability skills that members can benefit from are forming teamwork, creativity, leadership, responsibility, and time management. They can also learn directly from industry professionals and are able to explore new career opportunities that help develop and practice these skills.
Badger FCCLA Chapter's acts of community service
Former State Officer, Kennedy Truscinski designed and sold a T-Shirt and raised over $1,900 for our advisor diagnosed with cancer. She partnered up with the football team and raised community awareness about mammogram screening. Kennedy's efforts were reached all over the state and nation.
Our FCCLA Chapter does many Hat Days to raise money for families in need. Free Will donations are collected throughout the classrooms in exchange for the opportunity for students to wear a hat during the school day. The proceeds go to families facing challenges such as a house fire, illnesses, or loss of a loved one.
Our FCCLA Chapter hosted a Penny War to support of one of our chapter member's family battling colon cancer. In total our school raised over $1,700 for the family. The classes battled against each other preK-12, the top class from elementary and high school were treated to ice cream sundaes for their efforts.
